CONTRACTOR SCREENING REVIEW PROCESS FOR REFERRAL NETWORK
Home Improvement Helpers uses a contractor screening review process to vet service professionals in our referral network. Consequently we perform this process when they apply to join our network. Afterwards, if the service professional is accepted, this process is repeated every two years.
If a homeowner has concerns about the standing of a service professional in our referral network, we encourage you to contact us to allow us to review the situation. Accordingly, since we are committed to maintaining a high quality service network, we will reject or remove those that do not meet our quality standards.
CONTRACTOR SCREENING REVIEW PROCESS – HOW IT WORKS
We perform background checks on the owner/principal of each contractor business. Basically these checks are from public information related to criminal offenses.
Whether it is a S corporation, limited liability corporation (LLC) or partnership, we review that it is in good standing in the state they are located in.
We check contractor state mandated licenses and require each contractor to attest that they carry required local trade licensing.
Some service contractors are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors of larger national or “Corporate Accounts”. Consequently the contractor screening process review does not apply.
Home Improvement Helpers uses a variety of third-party databases and public records as part of its screening review process. Accordingly, the accuracy of information varies by third-party and state sources.
